Manchester City are mulling over a £40 million bid for Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to the Telegraph. The 21-year-old caught the eye in Lyon's surprise 2-1 win against the Blues in the Champions League this season, and it is thought Pep Guardiola has earmarked him to provide competition for Fernandinho at the base of City's midfield. The City manager was left disappointed in the summer when targets Fred and Jorginho opted to sign for Manchester United and Chelsea respectively, with Fernandinho remaining as City's only specialist in the position.
