Italian newspaper La Repubblica, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Red Devils have been scouting Andersen over the past few months with view to a potential move.

According to the same story, Manchester United are “extremely positive” that the Denmark international can help to improve their back four under the Portuguese head coach.
The story goes on to claim that Mourinho is “convinced” about Andersen succeeding at Manchester United despite his €30m price tag. However, Manchester United could be forced to wait until the summer to sign the Danish star, as the report suggests Sampdoria would be unwilling to sell the defender until the end of the season.
The Red Devils have struggled at the back of late after Manchester United conceded 18 times in 11 games in the Premier League this season.
2017 summer signing Victor Lindelof has made big improvements in the current campaign to establish himself as first choice in the Manchester United team.Mourinho has appeared to settle on England international Chris Smalling as Lindelof’s centre-half partner, despite having the option of Eric Bailly, Phil Jones or Marcos Rojo.
Manchester United came from 1-0 to down to ease to a 2-1 victory over Juventus in the Champions League in Turin on Wednesday night thanks to Juan Mata’s free-kick and Alex Sandro’s own goal.
The Red Devils will make the short trip across Manchester to take on the Premier League leaders at The Etihad on Sunday evening.
