Fernando Torres has admitted he wants to see Liverpool win the Premier League ahead of his other former club Chelsea. Efcc to prosecute former SGF boss babachir lawal

 Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has finally submitted the report of its investigation into fraud allegations against a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal. Lawal, while he was the SGF, was accused of looting the funds of the Presidential Initiative on the North East (PINE) through front companies. However, he has consistently maintained his innocence and denied the allegations. But the investigation report submitted to the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, by Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, found otherwise. Multiple sources at the Federal Ministry of Justice confirmed that Magu submitted the report to Malami last week. The report also includes draft charges the EFCC considered appropriate for the ex-SGF to face in the event the federal government decides to give him the opportunity to clear his name in the court of law. Nigerian singer tekno is hospitalised

Augustine Kelechi, aka Tekno, 25-year-old music star has cancelled his bookings because of illness. The  ‘Pana’  crooner, who shared this on his Instagram page, on Thursday also announced that he would be taking some time to fully recover before getting back to making music. The nature of the ailment is not disclosed. He wrote @teknoofficial,  “I have been away and on treatment, please don’t be upset that I can’t make it to shows I have been booked for.” Tekno added that he is hoping to get back to what he loves doing the most as soon as possible, pleaded for fans’ prayers and apologised for the inconveniences caused. “I am taking time out to fully recover and hopefully get back to doing what I love most soonest. I apologise, and if you can please pray for me, God watch over us all, thank you.” Following the announcement, fans and fellow celebrities including Tiwa Savage, Falz and Kizz Daniel, took to Instagram to wish Tekno a speedy recovery. Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has taken a veiled swipe at Manchester City star Sergio Aguero before Sunday’s derby showdown at the Etihad Stadium. A fatal road accident has claimed the lives of a man, his wife, daughter and mother-in-law in Anambra state.

An accident on Saturday at Nkwelle Ezunaka junction in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State claimed the lives of a man, his wife, daughter and mother-in-law, according to Punch.   It was gathered that the accident involved a tipper lorry and a car.   The victims, who were rushed to a nearby hospital were confirmed dead on arrival.   Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed said the corpses of the victims have been deposited in a morgue.   Mohammed said,  “There was an accident involving a tipper and a Toyota Camry car along  Nkwelle Ezunaka junction in Onitsha. “The accident occurred when the two vehicles had a head-on collision. As a result of the accident, the driver of the Toyota Camry, one Mr Godwin Akaeme and three other passengers in the car comprising his wife, daughter and mother-in-law, whose names are still unknown, sustained various degrees of injuries."   The PPRO said the tipper driver

Nigeria: Court Okays Suit for Trial of Fani-Kayode, Abaribe Over Nnamdi Kanu

former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe and others are to be prosecuted over an alleged involvement in how Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), escaped from the country. A Federal High Court in Abuja yesterday gave permission for the commencement of a suit seeking to compel the State Security Service (SSS) and the Nigeria Police to investigate and prosecute them. Justice John Tsoho gave the permission after listening to the applicant's lawyer, Oghenovo Otemu, who moved a motion ex-parte for leave to commence an action for order of mandamus. The judge said he was convinced that the applicant, Isaiah Ayugu, could proceed to properly apply for the order sought and ordered Ayugu to file a motion on notice to that effect and serve the respondents before November 22 this year. Falz Sues NBC For The Ban Placed On His Song “This Is Nigeria”

Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has filed papers in court challenging the ban placed by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) on his song, “This is Nigeria”. The court documents were filed through Falz’s lawyers, Adepetun Caxton-Martins Agbor & Segun (ACAS-Law), on November, 6, 2018, three months after the NBC sent a letter to JODAJ Global Communications Limited in Jos sanctioning them for playing Falz’s song, “This Is Nigeria” and banning the song from being played on radio, along with other songs. In the letter sent to JODAJ Global Communications Limited, NBC stated that the reason for banning This Is Nigeria is that the lyrics are vulgar and in contravention of the NBC Code. A lot of Nigerians, including celebrities, criticized NBC for the ban, stating it was ridiculous, but the ban was upheld. Falz had hinted in an interview granted in August that he would write to the NBC to seek a justification for the ban and if necessary, seek legal redress in the courts. H

Drogba, now 40 years old, decided to hang his boots after his team, Phoenix Rising, which he part-owned lost to Louisville City in the USL Cup final. It was the final of U.S. football’s second tier.
